a dream of every journalist...
comes true on Thursday: I will have the opportunity to do an interview with Nobel Prize winner Erich Kandel for the embassy's bimonthly newsletter "Austrian Information". Born in Vienna in 1929, Kandel emigrated to the States at the age of 9. In 2000 the professor for neurobiology received the Nobel Prize for medicine for his studies about long- and short term memory. I AM THRILLED, excited, nervous and anything else you can imagine. Drückt mir die Daumen :o)

Kein Grund, nervös zu sein. Auch Nobelpreisgewinner kochen nur mit Wasser. ;) (vor allem die Physiker.... wuhahaha... und ja, ich weiß, er ist Neurobiologe)
Meiner bescheidenen Erfahrung nach sind gerade die im vorhinein ehrfurchtsgebietendsten Menschen die nettesten und zuvorkommendsten Interviewpartner.
Nur blöd derfst ihm halt nicht vorkommen ;)
aber da du das garantiert nicht bist, sehe ich keine Schwierigkeiten.
Ach ja .. pass auf .. er heißt Eric, nicht Erich… ;)

bereite dich gut vor, dann ists kein Problem,
wenn ich auch nicht weiß zu welchem Thema du ihn interviewst ;)
und wenn du merkst, er ist a Netter, dann hol dir ein Autogramm ;)

ja das würd mich auch interessieren - zu welchem thema interviewst du ihn? oder machst ein porträt? drück dir auf jeden fall auch die daumen, du wirst das bestimmt ganz toll machen!
übrigens bei der gelegenheit mal liebe grüße von der tina - leider hat sie ihren vertrag in deutschlandsberg nicht verlängert bekommen und is jetzt auf jobsuche ... aber sie ist zuversichtlich dass sich was ergibt. :-)

@ Phillip: Actually his name is Erich with an H, but in the States the H got lost somehow :o)
@ Lia: It's gonna be a profile and should be printed in interview-style (question answer etc...) if my boss lets me :o) key points: his life, scientific work and his position on current Austrian topics
